Design and sell home accessories
Imagine how satisfying it would be to drink your morning tea from a mug you’ve designed yourself, on a sofa strewn with your own printed cushions, before returning to the kitchen to do the washing and drying up using a tea towel you’ve created, too. For those household names who have produced their own range of home accessories – Emma Bridgewater, Cath Kidston, Ella Doran – the above scene is a reality. And, if it’s something you’ve ever dreamed of, it could be easier to achieve than you think.
In our November 2013 issue, we met Mary Kilvert, whose colourful series of decorative homewares, based around jumper-clad felted sheep, have been causing quite a stir in her Somerset-based shop since she opened earlier on this year. We asked Mary to join us in the Country Living forums to share her experiences and offer practical advice in a live web chat on Tuesday, 22nd October, at 1pm.
